Complications

   

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder-(PMDD)

 

— Collection of physical and emotional symptoms that occurs 5 to 11 days before a woman's period begins.

— Goes away once menstruation starts

— May also lead to or predict premenopausal depression in some women

— Suicide rate in women with depression is much higher during the second half of the menstrual cycle

 

 Other Complications:  

 

—Limitations on Activities of Daily Living.
 
—Adverse effect on women's relationship with co-workers, partners, and children.
